ITBP soldier shot himself in police station premises

Delhi | A constable of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) shot and killed himself on Friday evening. The constable came to do duty in Karol Bagh police station area. He was waiting for the bus after completion of duty. Meanwhile, he shot from his service rifle INSAS. The constable has been identified as Sandeep Kumar (31).
Currently, the police have kept the body in the hospital for post-mortem. Police say no suicide note has been found. Central District Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Bhatia said that these days Sandeep was posted in ITBP Battalion 22 at Sangam Vihar.
On Friday, he accompanied his colleagues to duty in the Central District. The police immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he died. He was originally from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. In 2009, he was admitted to ITBP. Information about the incident has also been given to top officials of ITBP and the family of the deceased.
