An elderly patient was allegedly tied to a 'bed' for not paying the bill of a private hospital in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh. In this case, the state government has ordered an inquiry and asked to take the harshest action against the accused.
However, the hospital says that the patient has not been tied on the bed for non-payment of bills. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan tweeted after media reports in this regard, 'A case of cruelty with a senior citizen in a hospital in Shajapur has come to notice.
The culprits will not be spared, strict action will be taken. ' According to media reports, the hospital did not allow the daughter of Laxmi Narayan, a patient of Ramayan village in Rajgarh district, to take her father home and tie him to the bed after not paying the final bill.
He was admitted to the hospital on 1 June and discharged from the hospital on 5 June. Newly appointed Collector Dinesh Jain, who took charge of Shajapur district on Saturday, has ordered an inquiry into the matter by Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) SL Solanki.
Dr. Varun Bajaj, director of City Hospital, said that a 65-year-old patient has been discharged from the hospital on Friday without paying the arrears.
